Mobile Sites

The move to the mobile web, where users access the Internet via the web browser on their smartphones, is now in full swing. The statistics for businesses are compelling, with m(obile)-commerce set to overtake that of a traditional desktop or laptop computer in 2014. By m-commerce I am referring to users not only surfing the web on their mobile phone, but also making actual transactions using their mobile phone. It opens up huge possibilities for Lava’s clients, with their audience now able to search their product range and make purchases when in transit, such as catching the train to work, or when in transit for a holiday.

To take advantage of this opportunity, the best approach is to develop a distinct ‘B’ version of your website, suited to the smaller screen size offered by a mobile phone. Lava has developed m-commerce sites for clients including Toowoomba Grammar School, AMTIL’s Austech Expo, and Know Your Home. We also have several in development for our online retail businesses, launching early in 2012.

Developing an m-commerce site is distinctly different to creating an App such as iPhone or Android. Each has its advantages, however Lava is backing m-commerce as the ideal solution, as it’s suited to all smartphone devices and isn’t proprietary. This means we can build one site that fits all devices, enhancing the reach and also maximising both your initial and ongoing development costs.Have a chat to us about what’s possible… mobile offers great opportunities!
