ANZSOG Institute for Governance
Lava was engaged in 2011 to fully redevelop ANZSIG's website and online tools. The end goal: a dynamic, visually stunning site that clearly positions ANZSIG as a leader in its field, engages and informs users, and builds ANZSIG’s membership.
The Brief
The Australia and New Zealand School of Government’s Institute for Governance at the University of Canberra produces public sector research and professional development which has broad social purpose and genuine public value.

Lava’s Solution
The site design is slick and quite corporate looking, creating an initial ‘wow’ impression, and to present the client as a unique, proven and cutting edge public service. We feel it one of Lava’s strongest corporate designs to date! The design utilizes a blended page background and foreground, meaning the site has striking visual presence for users with high-resolution monitors, whilst remaining accessibly to the majority of web users. It’s a truly modern design.
The site provides first time visitors with an intro to ANZSIG, its Research, Programs and Seminars. The site has extensive use of rich media (video & audio) along with social networking tools to ensure it’s a highly interactive experience. Users can learn about ANZSIG’s Programs, and register via an online form. Lava has achieved an 2-way interactive experience via integrated social media ‘sharing’ tools, such as Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIN’s InShare widget. A Blog facility is also used, including a beautiful tab feature on the site’s Homepage.
Much of the depth of the site relates to its membership and servicing this existing, repeat audience. Prospective members can register online, selecting from various membership packages (# of employees). This includes an integrated credit card payment process. Benefits of membership include; the ability to edit their own profile, view profiles of other members, register for member only events, and view locked Multimedia and Research archives.
The ANZSIG website has positioned it ideally for the coming years.
