PMA Australia-New Zealand
PMA Australia-New Zealand is the first stand-alone global affiliate of Produce Marketing Association (PMA) - the leading global trade association serving the entire produce and floral supply chains. PMA A-NZ came to Lava requiring a new brand and dynamic online presence that gives users with an invaluable 'go-to' resource and place to interact.
The Brief
PMA Australia-New Zealand is the first stand-alone global affiliate of Produce Marketing Association (PMA) - the leading global trade association serving the entire produce and floral supply chains. PMA A-NZ came to Lava requiring a new brand and dynamic online presence that gives users with an invaluable ‘go-to’ resource and place to interact.
The new site will also give the PMA A-NZ a terrific platform to showcase its core services (Expo, Forums, Information Programs & Foundation). It needed to provide significant exposure to showcase Sponsors, and effectively attract new members, and providing services to existing members (e.g. renewals, exclusive content, etc.).
Lava won the PMA A-NZ project on competitive tender.
Lava’s Solution
Lava worked with PMA A-NZ through an extensive re-branding process. They were after a corporate identity that does not only represent their industries (fresh produce, fruit/veg and floral) and geographical region of operation, but is also modern, fresh, and resonates with stakeholders from all parts of the supply chain. The final logo shortlisted is derived from the detail of a single leaf, with its many intricate veins expanding out like a network of connections, finally forming the shape of Australia and New Zealand. The leaf is also the common element shared by most fresh produce and flowers.
The website design is clean, elegant and vibrant, using textured backgrounds of fruits, vegetables and flowers. The predominantly green colour palette is complemented by dashes of orange and yellow. The Homepage summarises selected dynamic content, to ensure the site is relevant to repeat visitors, such as upcoming Latest News and Events.
Some features of the website include; a multimedia gallery (videos, audio and images), Lava’s Blog facility (enabling various publishers, and back-end CMS moderation), online advertising (including statistical analysis), RSS feeds for select content, integrated incoming data feeds, and online Polls. All of this is managed via the central Lava CMS.
Lava built a Member Database, which enables companies and individuals to register, renew online, and list their organisation in an online Member Directory. This directory is a terrific facility to assist with exposure, and to encourage industry networking. The Lava e-News Builder was also provided, enabling PMA A-NZ to keep members updated.
The PMA A-NZ site went live in June ’10 to coincide with the Fresh Event 2010.
